Design and build a website for an instructional design company
As the Creative Director for Imagincy, I am sole designer and builder for our company website. Working with the Founder and CEO for content and direction, we used the ReadyMag platform for this playful site that highlights our team and competencies in learning experiences.
CHALLENGE
How might we convey our services in an imaginative and playful way
Imagincy is a team made up of instructional designers, learning architects, writers, technologists, filmmakers, actors, animators, and artists. We combine extensive instructional design knowledge with business expertise to create learning solutions to motivate employees, transfer learning to the job and produce business results. We wanted our website to feature our team’s creativity, rich experience, and ability to make learning experiences innovative and fun.
I worked closely with the Founder and CEO to design the site’s look and feel. We strived to give it an exciting aura that emphasizes our creativity and imagination.
I designed the brand identity and created a design system for the web pages, components, and interactions.
I designed and and built the fully responsive site as mobile-first using the ReadyMag platform.
LEARNINGS
Keep it simple
This site was relatively small in size, but we still wanted it to have a beautiful design and UX. We kept things simple intentionally to convey a clear message of what services and experience we have to offer while making it feel both imaginative and professional. This was my first experience using ReadyMag. While it has some nice features, I found the UI to lack intuitiveness, and it would not be my first choice going forward.
