Design and build an app and operations ecosystem to support seniors aging at home
As Digital Product Lead and Creative Director at McClennan Group for this new product for Holiday Retirement I was responsible for product direction from requirements to deployment, and UX and UI design.

CHALLENGE
How might we enable seniors to live at home with confidence, strength and connection.
Nine out of ten older Americans want to stay living at home as they age, though many worry about how long they’ll be able to maintain their independence. Holiday Retirement created Milo as an affordable alternative to retirement communities and assisted living.
App interfaces
We designed a role-based digital app and a scalable operations backend to support services offered for seniors in a monthly subscription model. Users included the seniors, their loved ones, a companion/visitor, regional manager and operations. Services included meal delivery, companionship visits, progress reporting for loved ones, basic task assistance, and 24-hour safety monitoring and fall detection.
Operations dashboard
We integrated the system with Holiday Retirement’s existing services for cost-effectiveness and efficiency, including their fall detection device, route management system, and OMS software. Then we connected it all to an operations dashboard for oversight and real-time monitoring of scheduling and services.
Subscription sales interface
Finally, we integrated Zuora’s e-commerce subscription platform for the sales team, enabling fast and customizable program enrollment.
LEARNINGS
Helping seniors age at home
Integrating multiple existing products into a complete app ecosystem for many types of users was a fun challenge. We streamlined and digitized existing paper processes for efficiency and tracking. Milo was a valuable service for the seniors it served. By talking with our seniors and their loved ones to understand their needs and motivations, we were able to tailor the product and services to best ensure they thrived at home. We not only offered companionship and meal delivery, we also sought to improve seniors’ lives by helping them name and achieve their goals and worked to ensure their well being, safety, and independence.
This was another rewarding project with its goals of helping seniors. The Holiday Retirement team was collaborative and a great partner to work with.
